By: CWO3 (Ret) Jared Heintz, PP Dear Retired Chief Warrant Officers,
I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. As the Vice President of Retired Affairs, it is both an honor and a privilege to address a group of individuals whose dedication and service have left an indelible mark on our association and the armed forces. I realize that it has been a while since I last addressed you all, which was due to a communications error on my part regarding technology. This issue has now been rectified. Over the last month, there have been some issues raised to the BOD of which I was not made aware before they escalated. I will never stand in the way of your communications to the BOD as a member of this association, but it is much easier for me to address and mediate issues if I am aware of them. You can reach out to me at any time at cwoaretaffairs@cwoauscg.org. I promise to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. In the spirit of camaraderie that binds us, I wanted to bring to your attention some pressing retired affairs issues that require our collective attention. Our community, built on the foundation of shared experiences and unwavering commitment, stands at the forefront of addressing these challenges. I invite you to join me in fostering a sense of unity as we tackle issues such as healthcare benefits, veteran support programs, and the overall well-being of our retired Warrant Officers. Your insights, gained through years of service, are invaluable in shaping the way forward. Let us stand together, not only as retired officers but as a family that continues to uphold the principles we swore to protect. I look forward to your input and collaboration as we navigate these retired affairs issues and ensure that the bonds forged in service extend seamlessly into our well-deserved retirement. In the coming weeks, you will receive a survey in your email, and we can also make it available via the CWOA Newsletter, if desired. The goal of the survey is to gather insight into the issues that each of you face so that my committee and I can tackle them head-on. Please respond back to me and say hello, give me some insight into who you are, where you live, and any good sea stories you want to pass along. With gratitude and respect, Jared D. Heintz, CWO (Ret.) Vice President of Retired Affairs

Yes to the above ID Card question. Department of defense requires a new card dealing with security issues. My wife's card expires in Feb so we will both get new ones at that time. You can go at anytime for yours.

I'm not eligible for VA benefits? Why? Am I being penalized because I had a good life after retirement by planning ahead financially for my family. What does my financial status have to do with my eligibility for VA?
