The Military Coalition (TMC) thanks Senators Wyden, Duckworth, and Hirono for advocating $32 million in FY 2025 funding for the U.S. Public Health Service Ready Reserve Corps (USPHS RRC), highlighting its vital role in public health and military readiness despite funding challenges. The Military Coalition (TMC), representing over 5.5 million service members and veterans, urges the swift passage of the Guard and Reserve GI Bill Parity Act of 2024 (H.R.7543/S.3873). This legislation aims to correct the current inequity that prevents Reserve and National Guard members from earning Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits for their training and duty days, thus better supporting these service members and addressing recruitment challenges. The Chief Warrant Officers Association of the U.S. Coast Guard (CWOA) is among the organizations that have signed and support this initiative. A coalition of veterans and service member organizations, including the Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association (CWOA), has filed a brief with the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, supporting the Federal Trade Commission's new rule aimed at protecting consumers, particularly veterans and military families, from deceptive practices by car dealers. The brief underscores the vulnerability of service members to such scams and defends the FTC's regulation against opposition from the National Automobile Dealers Association and the Texas Automobile Dealers Association. |
