On the afternoon of October 26th, the Steven Shields Alexandria Chapter hosted members from around the greater National Capital Region for a Fall Membership drive and social event. With about 45 general members in attendance, this event also served as a quarterly General Membership Meeting for the CWOA. Captain Russell Dash, Commanding Officer of the C5I Service Center, gave an inspirational talk about challenging ourselves to accept new ideas and habits and avoid looking at our practices from a “We’ve always done it this way” mindset. CWOA President Chris Westerdahl, spoke on many topics that are concerning the Warrant Officer community, including reduction in billets. CWO Westerdahl also spoke on new initiatives the association is working on, including the new ShipStore and Association website. Afterwards, everyone was treated to a BBQ lunch provided by the Steven Shields Alexandria Chapter. Special thanks to our Chapter Presidents/Representatives, CWO Ben Carroll, CWO Kurt Woodley and CWO Peter Deacon. Minutes From the meeting
