Columbia Scholarship
The COLUMBIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY, Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association Scholarship is a partnership with the university that provides two years of education to pursue Associates, Bachelors, and or Master’s degree in a three year period. Note: Books are covered however there is a $35.00 library fee unless you are active duty.
The scholarship will cover up to $25,200 in one online degree program (undergraduate or graduate level). The scholarship will be directly applied to the recipient’s tuition for up to 60 semester hours or 36 consecutive months in the selected online degree program, whichever comes first.

SECTION I – Purpose
The COLUMBIA SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY, Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association Scholarship is a partnership with the university that provides two years of education to pursue Associates, Bachelors, and or Master’s degree in a three year period. SECTION II – Funds
The scholarship will cover up to $25,200 in one online degree program (undergraduate or graduate level). The scholarship will be directly applied to the recipient’s tuition for up to 60 semester hours or 36 consecutive months in the selected online degree program, whichever comes first.
SECTION III – Governing Board
The governing committee shall be appointed and shall operate in accordance with the bylaws of the Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association.
SECTION IV – Amendment to the Standing Rules and Regulations
Amendments to the Standing Rules and Regulations shall only be made by two-thirds vote of the CWOA members present at the Annual meeting or at an Association Meeting.
SECTION V – Eligibility and Application Requirements.
1. An applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:
a. Be in good standing of the Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers Association.
b. A minimum weighted GPA average “C+”/2.5 in an accredited institution of higher learning for at least 12 credit hours for an Associate degree. A minimum weighted GPA average “C+”/2.5 in an accredited institution of higher learning with a completed Associate degree for the Bachelor and Bachelor’s degree for Master degree.
2. Application Requirements:
a. Applications shall be delivered to the Association, no later than 22 April 2022.
b. Applicants shall submit with their application their reason(s) for pursuing the two years of higher learning, include immediate and long-range goals and the course of study (Major). Submissions shall be limited to 2 pages MLA essay format.
c. Applicants shall submit documentation in support of any personal accomplishments, extracurricular activities, or community service performed during the past two years.
d. Applicants are invited and encouraged to submit a head and shoulders photograph to be published in the CWO News if a scholarship grant should be awarded. The photograph will not be used by the Scholarship Committee in consideration of awarding the grant.

SECTION VI – Presentation of Grants
Whenever possible, grants will be presented by a Columbia Southern University representative to include an area or district chapter of the CWOA located in the vicinity of the scholarship awardee. Appropriate ceremonies should be scheduled by the chapter and Columbia Southern University
representative.
