To All CWOA Members, Especially Our Retired Members,
As your newly elected Vice President of Retired Affairs, I am committed to enhancing this role into a proactive advocate for each of you. My vision includes increasing engagement with The Military Coalition, the Retiree Council, our Congressional representatives, and the Coast Guard’s senior leadership. Above all, I want to meet with our retired members more frequently to hear your concerns and ideas, whether they are personal or aimed at improving the CWOA retiree community. A key area for immediate improvement is our transition support. As CWOA members move from Active Duty to Retired status, we can significantly enhance our preparation for dealing with the VA. In the future, I envision our association having its own Veteran’s Service Officers to assist with this transition. Our first virtual meeting is scheduled for June 18 at 7:00 PM EST. If you’re unable to attend or miss the meeting, please don’t hesitate to email me at any time with any concerns or questions at [email protected]. Please use this link to be added to the Retired Affairs Meeting List. https://forms.gle/VZt7ZjYsSRbSN42r5 My goal is to return our Association to its roots, serving as a voice for our members within the Coast Guard and before Congress. Respectfully, CWO4 Mark Cortor, USCG (Ret.) Vice President of Retired Affairs CWOA Past President & Lifetime Member

Mark, I just wanted to thank you for your dedicated service to our fellow warrants and vets. I appreciate your direction with veteran transitions, it shouldn’t be this difficult. I have recently submitted my name for VP retired Affairs. Thank you again, I look forward to hearing more from the office of retired affairs.
