Join us in supporting the Coast Guard 1600 Memorial project to honor those lost in the 1982 crash of Coast Guard aircraft 1600. Your contributions will help create a lasting tribute at Coast Guard Base Kodiak, Alaska. Dear CWOA Chapter Presidents and Members,
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out on behalf of the Kodiak CPOA with a special request for your chapter's support regarding an important initiative—the Coast Guard 1600 Memorial project. About the Project: We are dedicated to creating a memorial to honor the brave souls lost in the tragic crash of Coast Guard aircraft 1600 on July 30, 1982. This memorial will be prominently located in front of the walkway leading to the commissary at Coast Guard Base Kodiak, Alaska—the highest foot traffic location on the base. It will feature a mounted C-130H propeller and a brass commemorative plaque, ensuring the legacy of AT3 Brad S. Canfield and SA Steven D. Berryhill, and all those who serve, are honored and remembered. A Call for Unity: This project presents a unique opportunity for the entire CWOA, CPOA, Warrant Officers and the collective Chiefs Mess Coast Guard-wide to unite and demonstrate our collective strength and camaraderie. By coming together to support this meaningful initiative, we can show the true spirit of our community and the unwavering bond that ties us together. How Your Chapter Can Help:
Your Support Matters: Your support will help ensure the legacy of AT3 Brad S. Canfield and SA Steven D. Berryhill, and all those who serve, are honored and remembered. By uniting as one, we can create a powerful testament to our commitment and solidarity. Thank you for considering our request. Your generosity today will make a lasting difference. Sincerely, AMTC Michael Saylor Project Manager Kodiak Chief Petty Officers Association [email protected]
