Experience and Dedication to CWOA
With 30 years of Coast Guard service (1989–2019) and nearly two decades of active involvement in CWOA, I have been privileged to hold numerous leadership positions that have prepared me for this role. Over the years, I have served as: ✅ President and Vice President of the Steven Shields Chapter (2013–2015) ✅ Bylaws Committee Chairman (2014–2021) ✅ Permanent Finance Committee Member (2021–2022) ✅ Death Gratuity Fund Committee Member (2022–2023) ✅ Retired Affairs Committee Member (since 2023) ✅ Motions Committee Member (2018–2019) ✅ 100th Anniversary Planning Committee Member (2019–2021) ✅ Founder and President of the Open Country Chapter—the first virtual chapter in CWOA history (2022-Present) In recognition of my commitment and contributions to the association, I was honored as a Distinguished Member of the CWOA in April 2021. I am immensely proud of the work we have done together, and I am committed to ensuring the continued success of our organization. Why I Am Running for Vice President The CWOA has made incredible strides in recent years, and I want to build upon that momentum. My priorities as Vice President will be: 1️⃣ Strengthening Membership – The lifeblood of our association is our members. I will work to foster a more inclusive and engaging environment that values the contributions of Active Duty, Reserve, and Retired Warrant Officers. Expanding membership and ensuring every CWO sees the value in our association will be a top priority. 2️⃣ Advancing Advocacy – Our role as advocates for pay, benefits, and overall welfare of Warrant Officers has never been more critical. Whether lobbying on Capitol Hill or working with Coast Guard leadership, I will ensure our voices are heard and our contributions recognized. 3️⃣ Ensuring Organizational Excellence – The CWOA has made important progress in modernizing operations and enhancing virtual engagement. I will work to further strengthen our administrative capabilities, ensuring that our association remains effective, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of all members. A Vision for the Future I believe the CWOA must remain laser-focused on supporting the unique needs of our members, while still serving as a voice within the broader Coast Guard community. Whether it's advocating for policy changes, engaging with leaders, or ensuring that we foster an inclusive, connected membership, our success depends on unity, collaboration, and strategic leadership. I have been fortunate to benefit from the mentorship and camaraderie of this association, and I am committed to fostering that same spirit of unity. By working together, embracing diverse perspectives, and focusing on practical solutions, we can not only address today’s challenges but also secure the future of the CWOA for generations of warrant officers to come. I appreciate your support and consideration for the role of Vice President. If elected, I will bring the same dedication, passion, and strategic vision that I have demonstrated throughout my career. Together, let’s continue to strengthen this great association and chart a course toward an even brighter future.
